The mission

A total eclipse is still the best ground view of the Sun’s corona — the faint outer atmosphere usually drowned by the disk. NASA sends researchers and photographers onto the path to measure the corona, watch how Earth’s atmosphere and ionosphere respond when the light drops, and keep a public record of the event. Ingalls was there to document totality as the Sun set over Spain, not as a telescope, as a witness.
The metal
Dye-infused into aluminum. No paper, no glass, no frame. A hidden float mount sits the panel ½ in off the wall.
